It’s no secret that I love music. Jay and I don’t collect Precious Moments, or jade bake wear, we collect music. Luckily our hoarding is largely hidden. We do still have a ton of CDs that I’m not sure what to do with. It took me a long time to make the transition to digital music. In the beginning I used to have to burn a CD of every album I downloaded and label the CD case spine, so I could alphabetize it. And for a while, we had music in iTunes that wasn’t in our CD library and vice versa and it drove me insane.

Then, last winter Jay did me a solid and loaded up every last CD we had to our Mac. Whew. Organized at last.

Other than listening to music, one of my favorite things to do is to make mixes, er, uh, playlists. I made some sweet mixes back in college for anyone who asked and even for those who did not ask. What good is enjoying music if you don’t share it? I have made mixes for all sorts of moods, for various moods and for Jay and our wedding and for listening to on the rides home from the births of our children. These days though, I mostly make playlists for working out and Spin classes. Half the fun of working out and teaching is getting to choose the music.

I receive a lot of compliments on my music choices for class and I often get asked for music recommendations so I thought I’d share my current playlist with you. Hopefully these songs will get you moving and inspire you to go further.

Keep in mind that for my classes I try to have a variety of music. This mix would be enough for 2+ classes and includes warm-up and cool-down music. I’ll go back into the archives for some oldies but goodies, favorites, and must-haves in the future. But for now, here it is:
